smalt Raises EUR 8 Million Seed Financing Round With Support From VOY

Berlin-based Smalt, a training academy and tech platform for the green energy installation industry, has raised EUR 8M in seed funding. The round was led by noa (formerly A/O) with existing investors General Catalyst (formerly La Famiglia), Owl Ventures and HEARTFELT also participating.
About smalt
smalt envisions to bridge the talent supply & productivity gap of workers in the European climate trades by providing a training academy and tech platform for the green energy installation industry. They upskill and deploy workers to install green energy systems, e.g., solar panels. smalt currently operates in Berlin, Hannover, Dortmund and Cologne and is planning to test the heat pump market in 2025, and intends to pilot its franchise model — which will let installers set up their own training businesses using Smalt’s learning materials and tech platform — next year as well.
